Formula Ford returns to the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships this weekend

This weekend marks the official return of the Australian Formula Ford Series to the high profile Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships. Our competitors have shown great support for the official return of our Series to the National scene, 18 Duratec-powered Formula Ford’s will be lining up on the grid at Phillip Island this weekend.
 
This event will mark the second round of our 2022 National Series, after our National drivers joined the Victorian Formula Ford Championship at Sandown four weeks ago.
 
Spectrum drivers Jordyn Sinni and Cody Donald are at the top of the standings, with just 1 point separating the pair. Xavier Kokai, Clay Richards and James Piszcyk are currently in a tight fight for third position in the championship and will be some of the drivers to watch at Phillip Island. SA-based Piszcyk has recently made the move from a Synergy prepared Spectrum to CHE Racing, driving the 2021 Championship winning Mygale of Tom Sargent.
 
The race meeting will run across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with race two on Saturday afternoon streamed live on Stan. The schedule this weekend will look a bit different than what we have been used to in the last few years. Our drivers will have only one practice session on Friday morning, followed by qualifying in the afternoon. Two races are scheduled for Saturday, with our final race on Sunday morning.
