Anthony Martin Wraps Up the 2016 USF2000 Title

Australian Formula Ford has produced yet another international series champion, with West Australian Anthony Martin winning the USF2000 title. Martin, a former WA Formula Ford Series winner, finished second at the final round of the American-based championship at Laguna Seca, which earned him enough points to seal the title on the back of an impressive season. “A lot of pressure is off for sure,” said Martin. “I just can’t believe it. From where we’ve come from and what we’ve achieved, it’s quite amazing. “I could not have done it without all my sponsors and Cape Motorsports. They’ve do so much for me this year and my career. It’s unbelievable, really.” The win gives him the opportunity to continue with the Mazda Road to Indy program, with Martin likely to land a Pro Mazda drive for the 2017 season.
