Venter tops the times at Bathurst

Jonathan Venter has driven hard to top the qualifying times at the Bathurst 12hr Formula Ford 1600 event.

Joining Jonathan on the front row is Brett Francis who fell .4 of a second short of the top time showing that he still has the pace after so many years despite not actively competing.

In third was Nathan Morcom who was pipped at the post for a front row start by .2 of a second.

Both Mitch Martin and Tom Tweedie posted sub 2.30 times to finish in the 4th and 5th respectively, a great result for Mitch who has minimal time racing Formula Ford and Tom punitng around in a 1986 model Van Dieman.

The first time participants at Bathurst are finding their feet including Wayne Groeger who is slowly improving.

No rest for the wicked. The Formula Ford competitors are back on track this afternoon for Race 1.

Good luck to all the competitors.
