NATIONAL AUSTRALIAN FORMULA FORD CHAMPIONSHIP

The Australian Formula Ford Championship is considered the pinacle of open-wheel competition in Australia.

It is run for Duratec engined competitors and is one of the oldest continuous national championships, starting in 1970.

In 2013, the now outdated Confederation of Australian Motor Sport announced that the AFFC would be discontinued, however, with such strong history and support, in 2014, the Formula Ford Association announced that approval had been obtained from CAMS to operate a national series and this series has since been officially known as the Australian Formula Ford championship, continuing the over 50 year legacy of the category in Australia.

Many Australian Formula Ford National champions have gone on to achieve great success in professional motorsport.

Former overall outright champions include Supercar drivers: Craig Lowndes, Jamie Whincup, Garth Tander, Chaz Mostert, Will Davision, David Reynolds, Jason Bright, Nick Percat, Tim Blanchard, Cam Waters, Anton De Pasquale and Thomas Randle.

Organisations interested in supporting Australia's future motor racing stars are invited to contact the Formula Ford Association.
