COMPETING IN FORMULA FORD
Whether you set your sights on building a successful career in motorsport or simply have a passion and desire to experience the thrill of racing, Formula Ford caters to everyone.
Young or old, a complete newcomer or a seasoned racer with years of experience, Formula Ford is truly a diverse and inclusive category that welcomes all enthusiasts.
At the same time, it remains one of the most affordable and accessible racing categories, making it the ideal platform to pursue your racing ambitions.
There are 3 LEVELS of Formula Ford racing offered in Australia
NATIONAL LEVEL RACING
STATE LEVEL RACING
HISTORIC RACING
with 2 classes of engines
DURATEC
and
KENT (FF1600)
NATIONAL LEVEL
Predominantly the domain of young racers with a sprinking of more senior drivers, the National Series is the pinnacle of Formula Ford racing in Australia.
The National Formula Ford Championship uses the more powerful Duratec engine.
The National FF 1600 Championship uses the Kent engine.
Both categories run in the same races at events but are seperated by a one line grid space, with the Duratec engined cars starting in front.
National Series events are held as standalone events at Motorsport Australia National level events - however they can also be incorporated into some State round events.
The aim of this Series is to provide a cost-effective arena for young drivers to develop their skills before moving up the racing ladder.
The racing is competitive, providing a great breeding ground for the stars of tomorrow.
The FFA is the coordinator of both the National AFF Championship and the FF1600 Series.

HISTORICS
Formula Ford has a long racing heritage in Australia and this Historic movement helps it stay that way.
Available to cars constructed before 1990, historic racing offers great social racing, where people are in it for the fun rather than the trophy.
Events are held around the country giving you the choice to race as much or as little as you like.
Your local FFA committee members can put you in contact with our historic racing representatives to assist you with all your queries.
