McElrea wins E-Challenge opening round
Hunter McElrea takes home round 1 of the 2020 Australian Formula Ford E-Challenge ahead of Cody Burcher and Zach Bates.
McElrea's consistency during the event delivered the round win. The American-based driver finished race 1 in 2nd position and race 2 in 5th.
Zach Bates won the opening race of our E-challenge, while Adrian Sarkis finished third for race 1.
Cody Burcher won the reverse grid race 2, with Brady McHugh and Chris Lazarevic rounding out the podium.
Round 2 of our E-challenge will take us to the iconic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on May 24th. 2020 Australian Formula Ford E-Challenge calendar:
Round 1: Sunday 10th May at Phillip Island
Round 2: Sunday 24th May at Laguna Seca
Round 3: Sunday 7th June at Barber Motorsport Park
Round 4: Sunday 21st June at Silverstone (NEW)
Round 5: Sunday 5th July at Bathurst Mount Panorama
