2020 Queensland Formula Ford Championship suspended due to COVID-19

Dear QLD Formula Ford competitors, It is with disappointment that we announce the suspension of the 2020 QLD Formula Ford Championship due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Australia. Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the championship have been canceled due to the closure of all of our circuits in accordance with the current restrictions in place in Queensland. Our current knowledge is that the circuits will be closed at least until the end of June. The five rounds of the 2020 QLD Formula Ford Championship were scheduled as follows (including 2 non-championship events at Lakeside):

  • Round 1: March 28-29 Morgan Park Raceway (CAMS State Championship - 4 races) *CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19*

  • Round 2: May 2-3 Queensland Raceway (Racers - 4/5 races) *CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19*

  • Round 3: June 6-7 Morgan Park Raceway (CAMS State Championship - 4 races) *CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19*

  • NC*: July 18-19 Lakeside Park Raceway (Racers - 4/5 races)

  • Round 4: August 8-9 Queensland Raceway (Racers, National FF - 3 races)

  • Round 5: August 29-30 Morgan Park Raceway (CAMS State Championship - 4 races)

  • NC*: November 14-15 Lakeside Park Raceway (Racers - 4/5 races)

The suspension of the championship will be lifted once we know when the next available event will be. At the present moment, we don't know how our calendar will change in the second half of the year but we will keep you informed as things evolve. In the meantime, please stay safe, wash your hands and adhere to the social distancing rules in place.
