Round 1 of the 2020 Victorian Formula Ford Championship was held over the weekend at Sandown Raceway, amidst a variety of weather conditions ranging from beautiful sunshine to humid thunderstorms. We would like to thank all of the competitors and supporters who joined us on and off the track.

Brendan Jones has started the season with a clean sweep aboard his Spectrum 011K, ahead of Dean Koutsoumidis and Adrian Wilkinson.

Ben Bargwanna kicked off his season in style in the Duratec class after a dominant performance highlighted by three race wins. Jordyn Sinni and Tim Edwards rounded out the podium, giving Melbourne-based manufacturer Borland Racing Developments a full podium of Spectrums. Sinni and Bargwanna were the class of the field and traded places all weekend. Formula Ford Rookie Jude Bargwanna (Ben's cousin) impressed the establishment by claiming pole position during his maiden race meeting. Saturday's win in race 1 was also Ben Bargwanna's maiden Formula Ford race win. The updated pointscore for the 2020 Victorian Formula Ford Championship can be downloaded at this link or from our website. A range of photos from the weekend are also now available in the Formula Ford Association online archive.
