Randle looking towards podium at home track

The revamped National Formula Ford Series swings back into action at Winton next weekend with the young guns of Australian motor racing keen to hit the track again after a six-week hiatus since the opening round at Mallala Raceway in April.

The racing at Mallala was high class, with a quality group of half a dozen cars battling it out for the lead across the three races. James Golding took three wins but was pressed all the way by the squabbling pack that included Hamish Hardeman, Jordan Lloyd, Jake Parsons and Thomas Randle.

Randle will be looking to take break Golding's monopoly on race wins in 2014 and take his first win of the season at Winton, a track where he has tasted success in the Victorian Championship and where he regularly tests his Dream Motorsport run Mygale.

"James (Golding) was fast at Mallala but we are confident that we can match him for pace at Winton," Randle said.

"We we're working with what was basically a new team at Mallala but we have a few test days under our belt since then.

"We're all working well together and are aiming for the same goal so Winton is looking good."

Randle's Dream Motorsport teammate Liam McAdam is coming off a career best sixth place at Mallala and will be looking to break into the major placings at Winton, a circuit where he has also enjoyed success.

"Mallala was my most competitive outing in a national level event so I'll be looking to carry that momentum forward," the young Queenslander said.

"The team has been fantastic. I've been getting faster and faster in testing, Thomas and I are working well together and I can't wait to get stuck back into racing this weekend."
