Spectrum team set for season 2014

Spectrum Racing Cars is proud to announce the signing of rookie sensation James Golding and 2013 Victorian Champion Tom Grech to the factory Spectrum Formula Ford team for this year’s Formula Ford National Series. James will be racing the Gippsland Body Builders supported Spectrum 014, while Tom will drive his privately backed Spectrum 011c.

Team principal Michael Borland said “Tom and James are two of the most exciting drivers around at the moment and will make up the strongest team we have fielded in years. We stepped back from the AFFC last year while we focussed on supporting our teams in the US and Canada but now we can’t wait for this season to get underway.

“The changes that have been made to the series for 2014 by the FFA have dramatically reduced our budgets, and as such I believe we will see a substantial increase in grid sizes. This is going to be one of the most fiercely contested Formula Ford series in recent years."

The team is currently undergoing a comprehensive testing program in readiness for the season’s first race at Mallala in late April.
