Venter on top in race 1

Jonathan Venter has continued his fast ways by winning Race 1 at the Bathurst 12hr Formula Ford 1600 event.

Fellow Anglo Australian Motorsport team mate Nathan Morcom has risen to take second place from former Bathurst champion Brett Francis.

Lap times have improved across the field and should continue as the track sees more rubber put down.

The Formula Ford 1600's hit the track for race 2 and 3 tomorrow.
