Jacal Racing and 3 Amigos Racing support DonateLife week at Bathurst 12hr event

Formula Ford 1600 competitor Jason Liddell and his team Jacal Racing and 3 Amigos Racing have donated signage space to promote organ & tissue donation at this week’s Bathurst 12 hour event in the lead up to donate life week, which occurs from the 24th February to the 3rd March 2013.

Jason’s wife Kate had a double lung transplant 15 years ago at the age of 26 as a result of Cystic Fibrosis. As a result of this gift of life Jason and Kate decided that life was too short to sit on the sidelines and not do what you wanted to do. Two years later Jason bought a Formula Ford and went motor racing despite never having been in a race car before.

The 3 amigos racing team has joined up with Jacal Racing to support and promote DonateLife Week at the Bathurst 12 hour event on February 8 & 9. Ross Firth, Rob Rowe and Jeff Senior have all donated the side of the cars to carry signage to promote DonateLife week. The addition of the 3 stalwarts of the NSW formula ford scene to the promotion of DonateLife is greatly appreciated by Jacal Racing. 3 amigos racing is based in the Sutherland shire in Sydney’s southern suburbs while Jacal Racing is based in the Rockdale area, also in Sydney’s southern suburbs. Despite the co-operation in spreading the message there will be no holds barred on the track and racing between the four will be fierce to be the first one across the line at the end of the weekend.

The Bathurst event on February 8th, 9th and 10th represents his fifth visit to the mountain since 2004 in a Formula Ford and his fourth promoting organ & tissue donation. DonateLife Week is Australia's national awareness week to promote organ and tissue donation and is led by the Organ and Tissue Authority as part of the Australian Government's National Reform Agenda to increase organ and tissue donation rates. He and Kate more than anyone are appreciative of the work done by donate life, all the health professionals involved as well as the very generous gift given by the donor’s family and see this small gesture for promotion and making the most of the extra time they have been given as a way of saying thanks.

Formula Ford 1600 takes to the track for 1 practice, 1 qualifying and 1 race session on Friday the 8th February 2013 and 2 races on Saturday 9th February 2013.
