Championship wide open after Ribarits wins at Phillip Island

Variable weather at Phillip Island helped set the stage for a thrilling penultimate round of the 2018 Australian Formula Ford Championship. Sonic Motor Racing Services driver Hamish Ribarits claimed his second round win of the season, ahead of BF Racing's Nathan Herne and privateer Zac Soutar. On Saturday, the Mildura-based teenager started race one from pole position, equalling his team-mate Hunter McElrea with 3 pole positions in 2018. Another bumper grid set for Phillip Island

This weekend Australian Formula Ford will be back at Phillip Island for the penultimate round of the 2018 Australian championship. Another solid grid of 28 cars have entered for this weekend, which will be held in conjunction with the last round of the 2018 Victorian Formula Ford Series. Mygale driver Hunter McElrea is currently leading the championship, 38 points clear of Sonic Motor Racing Services team-mate Hamish Ribarits, while Mygale privateer Zac Soutar is sitting in third, 49 points behind the Sonicduo. This weekend Australian Formula Ford drivers Hunter McElrea and Cameron Shields will be participating in the 2018 Chris Griffis Memorial Open Test organized by the Mazda Road To Indy. Entries open for SMP round

Entries are now open for round seven of the 2018 Australian Formula Ford Championship. The weekend will also feature round three of the Australian Formula Ford 1600 Championship. This will be the final round of both the Australian Formula Ford and the Australian FF1600 Championships. In order to celebrate another year of great Formula Ford racing, the Formula Ford Association is organising an end-of-season dinner to be held on the Saturday of the race meeting (27th October 2018). All competitors who participated in the 2018 Championships (both Duratec and Kent) are invited to take part in the event. Further details about the dinner will follow in the coming weeks. Entries open for last NSW round of the year

Round four of the 2018 NSW Formula Ford Championship was held last weekend at Wakefield Park. BF Racing driver Nathan Herne claimed the lead of the Duratec championship racing hard all weekend with Thomas Sargent, Finlay Allen and Lachlan Mineeff. Herne will look to maintain his points advantage during the last round at Sydney Motorsport Park in November.
