MCELREA WINS CHAOTIC RACE 3 TO COMPLETE WAKEFIELD PARK CLEAN SWEEP

Hunter McElrea leaves Wakefield Park for Round 3 of the Australian Formula Ford Championship undefeated and with a 17 point buffer in the 2018 Championship. Race 3 was filled with tension and drama, eventually finishing under safety car conditions. McElrea led the race early, ahead of Ribarits and Horsten, while the train behind argued for positions between 4th and 14th. On the second lap an incident involved Conor Nicholson, whose Spectrum 011 was stopped awkwardly on the side of the track, triggering a Safety car. 2018 AUSTRALIAN FORMULA FORD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 3 - ENTRY LIST

This weekend our National Championship will be joining the NSW Formula Ford Championship at Wakefield Park. The combined field will feature 33 drivers, with 21 cars fighting for the National Championship standings. Hamish Ribarits is currently leading the Championship standings, only one point ahead of team-mate Hunter McElrea. The Sonic pair are being followed by Liam McLellan on 67 points. FORMULA FORD AT THE BEND MOTORSPORT PARK

Next June, our South Australian State Series will create history, hosting the first ever Formula Ford race meeting at The Bend Motorsport Park. Round 2 of the SA Formula Ford Series will be held at the newly built race track in Tailem Bend on June 2nd-3rd, with a practice day available on Friday 1st June. The State Series event will be utilising the 4.95km-long International circuit. This layout was used during the Sunday races of the Shannons Nationals in April and will be used again by Supercars during their round at Tailem Bend in August.
