Winton Set to Fire for Round 5 of the Australian Formula Ford Series

Rain, hail or shine, this weekend’s round of the Australian Formula Ford Series is set to be hotly contested by an eager group of Formula Ford competitors. With Winton being the home test track to many, calling out a favorite to win is hard but we do know that series leader, Leanne Tander, will not be taking a backward step as she races towards her first ever Formula Ford national title. The man that will be doing his best to knock Leanne off the top spot will be Will Brown. Being one of Australia’s busiest racers, Will, who also competes in F4 and the new Toyota 86 series, is a top runner in all categories he competes in but has yet to overtake the experienced Tander. Anthony Martin Wraps Up the 2016 USF2000 Title

Australian Formula Ford has produced yet another international series champion, with West Australian Anthony Martin winning the USF2000 title. Martin, a former WA Formula Ford Series winner, finished second at the final round of the American-based championship at Laguna Seca, which earned him enough points to seal the title on the back of an impressive season. “A lot of pressure is off for sure,” said Martin. “I just can’t believe it. From where we’ve come from and what we’ve achieved, it’s quite amazing. “I could not have done it without all my sponsors and Cape Motorsports. They’ve do so much for me this year and my career.
