The reborn Australian Formula Ford Series is back for its second round of action this weekend as part of Round 4 of the Shannons Australian Motor Racing Nationals at Winton Motor Raceway June 13 - 15. Following a strong opening round at South Australia’s Mallala Motorsport Park, another strong showing of 21 Formula Fords entries will line up at Winton, the home test ground for a majority of the field. Odds-on favourite, James Golding, will be one to watch in the faster Duratec class following his outstanding victory in Round 1 in April. The revamped National Formula Ford Series swings back into action at Winton next weekend with the young guns of Australian motor racing keen to hit the track again after a six-week hiatus since the opening round at Mallala Raceway in April. The racing at Mallala was high class, with a quality group of half a dozen cars battling it out for the lead across the three races. The Formula Ford Association is proud to confirm that Formula Ford 1600 is set to race once again race at Australia’s most prestigious racetrack as part of the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour event. The FFA has received sufficient support for the event to proceed and we have been confirmed by the promoter as a support category to the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour. The ability to secure the event was due to the commitment of the Formula Ford 1600 competitors. All who committed funds must be congratulated.
